What is your most memorable childhood experience?I remember a trip with my father to visit a navy base in China and seeing the East China Sea for the first time. I was completely taken away by how big and beautiful it was.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?My mother. She has a very strong intellectual pursuit and an unstoppable drive to take action whenever a good idea comes up. She inspires me to try out and pursue so many things in life.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Proactiveness. Being able to take action, to ask for, pursue, and fight for whatever you want in life. Selflessness. Serving, helping and giving to others without asking for anything in return.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?Once I went to try out the cheapest haircut place I've ever heard of in China, which only cost 30 cents when converted to US currency. I got my hair almost completely shaved off without them asking me. People who met me later asked me if I was a Buddhist monk.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?Africa. I was fascinated with animals and the wilderness of Africa since childhood. I want to roam the vast plain myself.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?My intelligence. My curiosity. My tenacity. And my strong personal drive.
