What is your most memorable childhood experience?My most memorable childhood experience is probably when I was six years old and we brought home my adopted little sister from Russia. My parents had been prepping to go and get her for months so when the day finally came my grandparents, siblings, and I all loaded up in the car and went to the airport to see them.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify most closely with my father. We look very similar, and share many of the same mannerisms. He likes to tell goofy jokes, I like to tell goofy jokes. We solve problems with the same analytical mindset. We also have similar achievements in our lifetime (for example, we both were speakers at our high school graduations).
What character traits do you admire in an individual?First and foremost I admire resilience. The ability of someone to persevere when things get tough and still get the job done is something I respect. The second trait I admire is honesty. I have a tough time building any type of relationship with someone if I do not know if I can trust what they are saying.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?The funniest thing ever to happen to me happened while my family was in Jamaica. We got an opportunity to swim with the dolphins. The trainers had the dolphins rub their noses on all my family members and when the time came for them to "kiss" me the dolphin stuck out its tongue and licked me on the cheek.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I have always wanted to travel to New Zealand. It has such a variety of different activities to do from the beach to the mountains. That, or go Norway and see where some of my ancestors are from.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass down my curiosity for the world. I want my kids to have the same time exploring the world that I did when I was little. I would also like to pass on my height. As far as material things I would like to pass down enough money for them to go to college.
