| What is your most memorable childhood experience? | When I was a kid every time we would go to my grandparents' on my dad's side we would go out on their boat and pull up to the same island in the middle of the lake and play on the beach all day. I remember thinking to myself that I should be grateful for the good things in my life. |
| What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | My little brother. Even though we are considerably different people we have had to go through a lot of the same things with my mom. Although I moved out of the house while he was still very young I look forward to getting to know him as he grows and becomes a man. |
| What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I like when a person can be candid and open. Too often people feel that they need to be liked by everybody and that keeps them from expressing themselves fully. Adventurous and open minded people are my fav. |
| What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | I was in Barcelona with a couple of friends, and we had been drinking. We got back to the hostel and my friend was brushing his teeth and he started acting like the toothbrush was attacking his face. In hindsight I don't understand why it was so funny, but it had me in tears. |
| If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | Japan. The culture is so markedly different from our own that I feel like it would be the closest I could ever get to being completely out of my element. |
| When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I would love to pass on my desire to improve myself and the lives of the people around me, appreciation of life in all its diversity, and the recognition that there is always more to understand and things that will never be understood. |
