Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience would have to be my twelve year old season of baseball. This was the year I began to realize that I was very talented compared to the other children. During this year I hit multiple home runs, and was named MVP of our league. I was the top player for the All-Star team, even though I was the youngest player in my grade.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I most closely relate to my mother. My parents divorced when I was only two years old and my mother got custody of me. Although I was close to both parents throughout my life, I grew up with my mom and gained her values. She was a great inspiration to me because she dealt with the adversity of having a child at a young age, yet continued to pursue a degree. She is a very responsible and driven individual.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I most often relate to people who are easygoing and like to have a good time. I admire someone who is optimistic about life, and just happy to be here.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?The funniest thing that has ever happened to me... This is a very difficult question to answer because my life is filled with humor. My senior year I was named "Class Clown." I have always enjoyed laughter and funny situations. If I had to name one thing though, I would probably go with participating in the senior talent show and rapping for the school. A friend "dared" me to write a rap and do it in the talent show, so I did.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to Europe if time and money were not an issue. The culture and history of European countries has always amazed me. I would love to backpack across Europe and check out all of the different countries.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would definitely like to pass on my passion for competition to my children. I am competitive not only in sports, but academics as well. There is something about being better than others at things that is a rush for me.
