What is your most memorable childhood experience? | My most memorable childhood experience was when I was twelve years old. My mother and I lived in the western US and we experienced a very large earthquake. We were affected in many ways by the ordeal. She decided to move us back east. I was reluctant for quite a while but when we got there we were greeted by old friends and family from before the initial move out west. It's not really one specific incident, but I learned a great deal about what it is to care for someone by the love we felt after almost a decade away. |
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why? | I identify with my mother. She and I are most alike as far as the rest of the family is concerned. We relate on a level that sometimes feels separating from others during gatherings. No other reason, we went through a lot with nobody else to share our experience. |
What character traits do you admire in an individual? | I admire sincerity over all else. I am up front with people and feel like the games and politics so commonplace in everyday life do nothing but hinder collective success. If I feel like someone is authentic with their interactions and emotions, they earn my respect. |
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? | A really funny thing that happened took place at a big amusement park. My friends and I were in our mid 20s. We were playing games to win prizes and one of my friends won a giant teddy bear...it was a monster. Not wanting to carry it around we decided we would give it to the first kid we saw and make his day. Every time we tried to give it to a kid, the parent would reject it. This happened about a dozen times before finally this old woman who I guess had been watching us try to pawn this bear off walks right up, looks at my friend and steals the bear. There was a moment of silence followed by all of us bursting out with laughter. Maybe you had to be there. |
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why? | I would explore the rest of Europe. I have been to five countries in Europe and had an amazing time in every one. Why stop now? |
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them? | I have two little girls. The most important thing I want them to learn is critical thinking skills. The more they are able to make decisions for the right reasons, the more prepared they will be for life. |
