What is your most memorable childhood experience?I remember convincing my school to allow me to register after the deadline had passed. I was only five and the secretary at the school told my parents that it was too late to register me for kindergarten. I remember I started to cry when she told us. I was asked to go wait in the hallway while my parents tried to sort things out. Then a teacher walked by and asked me why I was crying. I explained to her what happened and told her that I didn’t know why they wouldn't accept me. I told her that I already knew my ABCs, and I started singing them to her. The teacher walked into the office with me in hand and requested that I be allowed to register and to be in her class.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I feel closest to my little brother, he is several years younger than me but we have developed a very close bond. I try to give him guidance with minimal criticism to keep our communication very open. We also have a very similar sense of humor which keeps us always laughing.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire people that are respectful, honest, and smart.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?One winter, after a few drinks with a bunch of friends, I unexpectedly stepped on some ice. I slipped so hard I actually saw my feet in the air before I hit the ground. Everyone laughed, including me. I didn't really feel the pain until the next day.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would want to go all over the world; it would be very hard for me to just choose one place. I want to see all of the great scenes of the world such as the Great Wall of China, the Pyramids of Egypt and Central and South America, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Eiffel Tower. I also want to visit all the great cities of the world such as Tokyo, Dubai, Sydney; the list goes on and on. I have a passion for new and exciting experiences.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like them to be well-rounded people who are able to see life from different perspectives. I would also like them to be humble and understand where I came from, and the struggles associated with coming from meager beginnings.
