Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience was my family's cross-country road trip from New York to Arizona when I was 9 years old. On our week long journey, my parents, older sister, and I passed through the cornfields of Indiana, caught a Cardinals game in St. Louis (where Mark McGwire hit his first home run with the team), outran a tornado in the panhandle of Texas, and stopped at every Cracker Barrel in each city in between. It was an excellent way to explore our great country, and most importantly we bonded as a family.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I definitely have excellent relations with all of my immediate family. I love my father, mother, brother, and sister equally. However for the sake of having to choose, I will say my sister. She without a doubt goes above and beyond what the average sisterly duties call for. She helps me every opportunity she can- whether it's finding a job for me (she works in the television field also), helping with classes, and relationship advice. I know I can confide in her no matter the situation.
What character traits do you admire in an individual? My favorite character trait in a person is simply being friendly. I like to gravitate towards individuals who live life with a positive attitude, use common sense, and are just generally nice. If someone has a sense of humor and the ability to make conversations interesting and enjoyable, that is a plus!
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?My two year old nephew is always a bunch of laughs when I'm with him. I was asking him if he knew different simple words like "dog" and "shoe" and he repeated them perfectly. Then I asked him "Can you say super-cala-fragalistic-expealadoscious?" and he yelled "No!" in such a cute and matter of fact way. I can already tell he's going to be a comedian.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If I could travel anywhere in the world, my first stop would be to Australia. It would be an excellent opportunity to visit some of my cousins and grandmother's friends and relatives. In addition, I always wanted to see kangaroos in action and all the beautiful landmarks that the Outback has to offer.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?If I ever have children I would like to pass on my sense of humor. I would teach them that life is short, and there will be hardships no matter what, so you might as well see things on the bright side.
