Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience?I remember going to Disney World for the first time with my parents. I had grown up being fascinated with all of the Disney characters (Mickey, Goofy, Donald Duck) and it was a very special moment for a five year old me to see them in "real life."
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I feel like I identify with all of my immediate family members for different reasons. I identify with my twin sister when it comes to school and careers. I identify with my brother when it comes to music and other forms of entertainment. I identify with my mother when it comes to how emotionally engaged she is with all of us. I identify with my father when it comes to his work ethic and perseverance.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire honesty in an individual. I understand it is sometimes difficult to tell the truth because it may harm you or hurt another person, but being honest allows you to always have a clear state of mind. I also admire those that have a "fighter spirit" and never give up, regardless if it is in school, at their job or simply playing pickup sports at the park.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you? When I was in high school, I was trying to show off to a couple of girls I had just met by sliding down the rails of a long stairwell. I forgot to account for the heavy books I had in my backpack, on my way down the weight of the books pulled me back and I ended up rolling down the stairs (I didn't get hurt) and all of the girls just stood there and laughed at me.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would most certainly travel to Japan. I have always been fascinated by their philosophy and lifestyle. Almost everything that I would encounter in Japan would be a new experience, and I believe that engaging with a new country, language and culture is what travel is all about.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?Always chase your dreams, don't ever let anyone tell you can't do something. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Always listen to both sides of the story, and never jump to any conclusions.
