Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable childhood experience is traveling to Aruba with my family when I was eight. This was my most memorable experience because it was the first time I learned how to snorkel. Even to this day I find myself snorkeling whenever the weather permits, to satisfy a healthy addiction stemming from that first trip to Aruba with my family.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I closely identify with my dad. My dad and I are so much alike that sometimes we may not see eye-to-eye on things because neither of us like to admit we are wrong. At the end of the day he is my best friend and I can talk to him about anything, whenever something is bothering me or just to talk about school/ sports.
What character traits do you admire in an individual? In an individual I admire the traits of honesty, loyalty, and being humble. Honesty goes a long way in life and if a person can be truthful with themselves as well as others I feel as though they can earn my trust. Loyalty to me is big due to the simple fact it's truly hard to come by. There aren't too many people in the world who will be there no matter what for a person. Being humble is key to me because you never should boast about achievements to others who might be struggling or caught up at a crossroads in their lives.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?The funniest thing that ever happened to me was I was walking my dog on a freezing and snowy February morning. My dog somehow got out of his collar and sprinted away. I was upset because I thought my dog ran away and my dad was going to be angry. However upon returning home I found my dog waiting patiently by the door to go inside. My dog obviously just didn't think a walk in the freezing temperatures and snowy conditions was appropriate.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If time and money were not an issue I'd spend every day in the U.S. Virgin Islands. I love to be in the water, whether it is scuba diving, snorkeling or jet skiing. To be able to constantly be around crystal clear waters and tropical temperatures all year round would be a dream of mine.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?If I ever have children I would like to pass onto them a sense of piety or selflessness. This would be key for me to teach them because putting others before yourself can go a long way in changing someone's life. You never know how far a random act of kindness can go and I believe making other people happy truly makes you happy in the long run.
