What is your most memorable childhood experience?Stealing home in baseball games was always one of my favorite experiences in childhood. When I was a kid baseball was my life. I was a pitcher, shortstop, and later a first baseman.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?My grandfather. He was in the WWII generation and they lived their lives trying to be honest, honorable and doing their duty. I always looked up to him.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire honesty, directness, patience and sense of humor.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?I had to a take a speech class as part of my master’s program, and for our final speech we could talk about any topic we wanted, except we had to pair up with a fellow student. Unbeknownst to me, two of my classmates choose to do their speech about me. They even raided my Facebook page for pictures to accompany their presentation and made me sound like the "Most interesting man in the world” guy from those TV ads.  It was hilarious and completely unexpected.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I'd travel to French Polynesia, because I'd like to go somewhere off the beaten path.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I hope to pass on my intelligence, health and athletic ability.
