Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My grandparents owned a nice property with woods and a stream. My friends and I would go on "adventures" in the woods and build dams in the stream. There are countless stories and memories there; I could not choose any one of them to be the most memorable. Those days of exploration, construction, and discovery were very influential and gave me a healthy respect for life, nature, and the outdoors.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I identify closely with my brother. He was always very patient and accepting of me. Since we are several years apart often we weren't on the same level of expertise, but we always had fun together. We like a lot of the same things and have very similar personalities.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?I admire integrity, conviction, confidence, and benevolence. I admire people with strong principles that guide them to behave in a manner that encourages the well-being of themselves and others. I admire the confidence that allows someone to stand by their beliefs and lead others. I also admire individuals who have the dedication to pursue a goal and not give up until it's complete.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?One of the funniest things to ever happen to me was when I had a summer job as a delivery driver. The job involved a lot of heavy lifting. I managed to split my pants from my crotch to my belt in front of a family and had to finish a series of deliveries with my pants flapping in the wind.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?I would travel to Iceland. It would be amazing to have all the time in the world to explore the beautiful landscapes and natural wonders. Glaciers, hot springs, diving, waterfalls. My daughter loves volcanoes as well so we could explore those together. I've always wanted to see the northern lights too.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would like to pass on the understanding that happiness stems from within. It's not something anyone else can figure out for you or give to you. You have to figure out what it is that makes you tick. Also to pass on the understanding that you must find the purpose of why you're here and figure out how to accomplish that in your given time.
