Essay Questions

What is your most memorable childhood experience? My most memorable moment from childhood is probably playing football with all my friends while my family watched. It was great knowing that I was making my family so proud with how well I did.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?My father. Even though we are vastly different in some ways, I have learned a lot from him. We also enjoy many of the same things like books, history, movies, sports, and travel.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?Wisdom and honesty most of all. Having wisdom is different from knowledge because with wisdom a person knows not only when to give advice, but also not give advice; whereas many of those with knowledge often talk at great length. Honesty is also very important because I appreciate people who represent themselves for who they truly are.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?Probably flying half way around the world to Scotland and staying at the exact same hotel as someone I went to college with and meeting them randomly in the lobby. I was at a complete loss of words and we just laughed for a good five minutes when we saw each other.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?Other than outer space, I really want to go back to the Greek islands. There is no place more beautiful than the deep blue of the Mediterranean and the polished rocks on the beaches. Not to mention the cheap gyros.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?Hope. More than anything else I would want my children to know that they have control over their lives. They can choose to be happy or be sad, they can choose to create the lives they want for themselves. No matter how bad it may get at times, there is always a choice and there is always hope.
