What is your most memorable childhood experience?My most memorable childhood experience would be when I was 12 years old. My dad took me one summer for a road trip across the country. Along the way, we traveled to every baseball stadium we could watching games. We were both baseball fans and planned our trip to zig and zag back and forth to catch as many games as possible.
What immediate family member do you closely identify with and why?I don't really identify closely with any immediate family member. I am very dissimilar from both of my parents and don't have any brothers and sisters. I was always very independent as a child and have had a fairly "hands-off" relationship with my parents that I think has worked well for me.
What character traits do you admire in an individual?To me the most admirable character trait is honesty, not only to others but also to oneself. Being able to honestly evaluate one's own life, decisions, and actions and affirmatively choose them, rather than passively being swept up in events or disclaiming responsibility, is a more authentic way of approaching life in my estimation.
What is the funniest thing ever to happen to you?A friend and I were going on a double date to the senior prom. His date stood him up and he said he wasn't going to go without a date. My date said she didn't really want to go without all of us going together. I frantically called other girls Iknew but couldn't find one without a date. I stopped by a friend's house and his little sister was there and she agreed to go. So my friend went to the prom with a fourteen year old girl in a hilarious electric blue frilly costume dress. It wasdefinitely an odd couple, and the pictures are priceless.
If time and money were not an issue, where would you travel and why?If time and money weren't an issue, I would travel to South America to visit friends I made while in Europe. I met people from Colombia and Chile and would love to see their countries and experience the local culture there. I could also stand towork on my Spanish anyway.
When and if you ever have children, what would you like to pass on to them?I would want to pass on to them values of open-mindedness, fairness, and respect for other people.
